About the Bursary

Vodacom Group Limited (Vodacom), founded in 1994, is a South African mobile communications company that gives data; voice; messaging, and converged services to its over 50 million clients.

Used by Telkom and Vodafone (who each held 50% stocks ), at 2008 Vodafone raised its position in the provider to 65 percent, while Telkom announced to list their remaining shares to the JSE.

In reality, Vodacom is South Africa’s top mobile network with approximately 58 percent of this country’s market share.

The business currently works not just in South Africa, but in addition offers networks in LesothoMozambique; both Tanzania and the DRC, besides providing services to clients in over 40 countries in Africa, including ZambiaNigeriaAngolaGhanaKenyaCameroon along with Côte d’Ivoire.

  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Electronics/ Electronic Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering (Light current)
  • Actuarial Science
  • *University and University of Technology Diplomas/ Degrees in related fields of study

Host Nationality

Vodacom Bursary is taken and hosted in South Africa.

Eligible Nationality

Vodacom Bursary is only available to South African Students.

Scholarship Worth

This is a full bursary, covering all the study-related expenses, including tuition, prescribed textbooks, lodging, and food. Students will additionally get involved in vacation work or technical training annually.

Once students have graduated, then they will join the Graduate Development Program and could be asked to take up employment in Vodacom (according to availability within the company).

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted – if you do not receive any feedback by 30 November, regard your application as unsuccessful.

Eligibility 

Applicants should meet the following minimum entrance standards before applying (please notice that failure to meet each of the prerequisites will probably result in an application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
  • Studying or intend on studying in one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intend on studying full-time at a recognized South African University or University of Technology
  • Achieved a minimum academic result of 70% for Mathematics and Science in Matric
  • Engineering and Science degree students: must have achieved a minimum of level 6 for Mathematics and Science in Matric
  • Proven financial need

  • Photograph (passport size)
  • Grade 11 final results (current Matric students)
  • Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
  • Proof of admission into a tertiary institution
  • The full academic record to date (current tertiary students)

The submission of the application for the Vodacom bursary ends on August 31, 2024.
