Public Colleges In Johannesburg That Accept NSFAS

There are a number of TVET Colleges in Johannesburg, however, which colleges accept NSFAS?

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides funding to students in need of financial support to study at public colleges or universities. Public colleges include all TVET Colleges in the country.

Johannesburg has six TVET Colleges in and around the city, which include:

Central Johannesburg TVET College

Central Johannesburg TVET College aims to lead its students to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities that contribute to economic development, through responsive education and training interventions. The college has six campuses which offer a variety of courses, including NATED and NC(V) courses.

Ekurhuleni East TVET College

Ekurhuleni East TVET College’s mission is to empower and prepare its students for the labour market and self-employment. It aims to create a good learning environment which meets the Education, Training and Development expectations of its students. A number of courses are available to students.

Ekurhuleni West TVET College

Ekurhuleni West College aims to ensure that its students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for employment or self-employment. The college has a number of campuses which aim to ensure lifelong learning and the development of its students. Besides NSFAS,  bursaries are also awarded to deserving students who have excelled in previous semesters.

Sedibeng TVET College

Sedibeng TVET College’s mission is to be the leading TVET College for providing affordable training and education. It aims to have its staff provide qualifications which meet the expectations and needs of commerce, industry and the community within the TVET sector.

South West Gauteng TVET College

South West Gauteng TVET College offers education and training in the NQF Level 2 to 4 and N4 to N6 levels. Both Distance learning and e-learning are available to students. Those interested in following a vocational direction in either Business Studies, Engineering Studies or Utility Studies only need to have passed Grade 9, however, it is preferred that they have passed Grade 11 or 12.

Western TVET College

Western TVET College aims to provide quality education and training which would benefit both the students and their community. Various courses are offered at the college including public adult learning centres for learners that would like to complete AET levels 1,2,3 and 4 (NQF Level 1).
