In today’s latest SASSA NEWS– SASSA encourages social grant beneficiaries to make use of alternative payment methods to collect their grant payments. Below is a list of alternative payment methods.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announced that social grants for July 2024 will begin on 4 July for Older Persons, on 5 July for Disability Grants, and the rest will be paid on 6 July.
On the day their grants are available, beneficiaries may make their way to the following pay points:
- ATMs
- Pick n Pay
- Shoprite
- Boxer
- U-Save
- Checkers
Beneficiaries may present their Sassa cards at the above pay points to either withdraw cash or buy essentials. Those who receive their grants via Sassa mobile pay points may also make use of the above-mentioned payment methods.
Recipients are reminded that they do not need to withdraw their grant on the day it becomes available, the money will remain on the card until they decide to use it.
Clients who have forgotten their PIN codes or do not have PIN codes may reset them at their nearest Post Office outlet. Once their PINs have been reset, beneficiaries may go ahead to collect their grants.
Sassa advises beneficiaries to be cautious and vigilant when using their PINs and not to share their PINs with anybody, not even family members. This is as perpetrators are always looking to take advantage of vulnerable individuals.
