This is to notify you that the online portal for the student’s special assistance scheme popularly known as the bursary award program is ongoing. Students with financial constraints can grab this opportunity so to help and support them throughout their academy stay

This offer is only available for a limited time, so this is to inform all students aspiring for the ongoing bursary fund program, to submit their application online and also read the terms and application conditions via the link below.

MORE ABOUT THE SANSA BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & RENEWAL

The value of the bursary will depend on the level of study:

  • Honours students will receive R100 000 (for 1 year)
  • Masters students will receive R120 000 (for 2 years)
  • PhD students will receive R130 000 (for 3 years)

SANSA will be awarding bursaries for Postgraduate studies, within Solar Physics and Space Weather Forecasting (Hons, MSc, MPhil, PhD).

SANSA Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

  • South African citizen
  • Good academic records
  • Students who intend to pursue postgraduate studies in space-related degrees and qualifications will be given preference.
  • Must satisfy the minimum entry criteria for acceptance into a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
  • Proven financial need
  • Must be interested in working within the space sector
  • Must be driven and forward-thinking

How to Apply and Application Details

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • June results or progress report of all subjects (if no exams were written)
  • Completed SANSA testimonial by education official (.pdf)
  • Research proposal, if applying for MSc or PhD funding (does NOT have to be approved by a university yet) (MSc students: maximum of 5 pages, PhD students: maximum of 10 pages)

Note: all supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format only, up to a maximum file size of 80MB.
