Established in September 2008, Rheinmetall Denel Munition is known for manufacturing medium and large caliber ammunition. It is a specialist in the field of design, development and manufacture of ammunition and equipments like mortars, infantry systems, etc. They are also a globally leading organisation in terms of plant engineering. The ownership of RDM is shared between Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (51%) of Germany and Denel Limited of South Africa.

 

Owned by Denal company of South Africa and Rheinmetall Waffe Munition of Germany, it provides business and supplies to NATO countries in Asia, South America, South Africa, the Middle East and South African countries.

Rheinmetall Denel has been dominating world market by setting world records which include the longest range achieved with a 155mm artillery round, a 34 calibre gun achieving a range of 54 km and 52 caliber gun achieving a range of 76 km. The aim of this organisation is to become the best producer of solid propulsion products and energetic material applications.

The manufacturing sites are located in Wellington (Western Cape), Boksburg (Gauteng) and Boskop (North West) while the head office is located in Somerset West (Western Cape).

Eligibility Criteria

The interested applicants must meet the following entry requirements to apply for the Rheinmetall Denal Munition bursaries 2024. Please note that your application will not be considered if you fail to complete all of them. The students must be:

  • A citizen of South Africa
  • From a second-year programme
  • Hold an honours degree
  • Masters or Doctoral level
  • A student of reputable/creditable University of South Africa
  • Be in need of financial aid
  • Not be funded by any other funding organisation

After checking the eligibility criteria, interested candidates can apply online for the bursary.

You must submit the form with all the relevant documents included, before the deadline date for submission.

Documents Required

Here is a list of documents required when applying for the Rheinmetall Denel Munition bursary programme. In case of failure to submit any of the documents, your application will not be considered.

  • Certified copy of ID documents
  • Copy of academic transcripts on institutional letterhead
  • Proofs of household income from parents or guardians. If available, proof of payslips, grants, pension, etc is required
  • A professional CV

Note: Individuals waiting for the final results or university acceptance letter can also apply in the absence of these documents. However, when the documents are received, they should be submitted right away.

Closing Date

The application will be closed on 15 April 2024. To ensure your application is considered, please apply before this date. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
