How Sasaa Applicants Can Reconfirm Their Existing R350 Grant Application

After the President lifted the State of Emergency, a new regulation was used for the disbursement of the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grants (SRD) R350 grant. Every three months beneficiaries are required to update their information to continue receiving the grant.

Under the new regulation, SRD beneficiaries had to reapply and ensure that they met the new criteria of having a monthly threshold of R350.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has a process in place that will help the Agency know whether or not to continue disbursing the SRD grant to beneficiaries.

In order for Sassa to be able to do this, beneficiaries are required to reconfirm their existing R350 grant application.

Here are steps to reconfirm your existing R350 grant application:

  1. Click on the SRD website
  2. Scroll down to “Reconfirm your grant application”
  3. Click the yellow bar that reads “click here to reconfirm your existing application”
  4. Insert ID number
  5. Insert mobile number
  6. Click send SMS
  7. You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) via SMS
  8. Insert Pin
  9. Click on verify pin
  10. Then follow all of the necessary steps to complete the process
  11. Sassa requires SRD R350 grant applicants to reconfirm their grant applications at least once every 3 months.

This will then inform the Agency that applicants still need and qualify for the SRD grant in terms of the new regulations.

It is also said that existing applicants can also update their responses to a screening questionnaire that is found on the SRD website, at any point in time, should their circumstances change or to correct errors.
