About BEKA Schreder

BEKA Schréder (Pty) Ltd was founded with an objective to provide intelligent and sustainable lighting solutions using modern technology in order to reduce energy consumption and decrease the overall cost of ownership. It started its operations in 1978 and in 1981, it has moved its head office and factory in Olifantsfontein, a strategically positioned industrial town situated between Johannesburg and Pretoria. Currently, this company is Africa’s leading manufacturer of Luminaires and Glass Fibre Reinforced polyester (GRP) Poles.

 

BEKA Schreder Bursary

BEKA Schréder (Pty) Ltd will be awarding bursaries to the following fields of study:

  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Logistics
  • Supply Chain
  • Engineering

The bursary program will provide up to a maximum of R75 000, covering the entire costs of study-related expenses, including tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, and meals. Should all study-related expenses be less than R75 000, the bursar will not be entitled to the difference.

The bursary will be granted for one year of study. Successful bursars are required to re-apply for each academic year, whereby the chances of being approved are solely based on the student’s academic performance.

Students who benefit from this program will also be given the opportunity to undertake vacation work or practical training each year. Failure to complete the program will result in being liable for the reimbursing of the partial or full bursary amount.

Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

In order to qualify for this bursary program, applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria (please be advised that failure to meet the qualifications will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric or currently in Matric
  • Studying or intend to study towards a full-time undergraduate qualification with one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intend to study full time at institutions accredited by the Department of Higher Education (DHET)
  • Competitive academic record
