How To Get Your Unisa Registration Fee Refund

Unisa will soon use a new EFT process to deposit refunds and/or allowances into the accounts of students qualifying for such payments. Here is how students can get their registration fee refund.

The University of South Africa (Unisa) will shortly use a new electronic funds transfer (EFT) process to deposit allowances and/or refunds into the accounts of students eligible for such payments.

Students eligible for a refund or allowance will receive an email to their myLifeemail account. The email will contain relevant information along with a secure link to a website where the student will need to provide and submit their banking details.

Unisa reminds students that they may only provide their own banking details as payments to third-party accounts will not be processed. Bank details will be verified against the student’s ID number.

Students will be able to view the verification status of their banking details on the same website used to submit their details. However, the verification status will not be available immediately.

In the event that the bank account verification is rejected or fails, students will be required to re-enter their banking details and ensure that all the information is correct before submitting.

Any queries may be sent to the Unisa Directorate of Student Funding at [email protected].

Refunds may take up to 15 working days to be reflected in the student’s bank account. NSFAS allowances will be processed twice a month, in the first and the third week of each month.
